Views we catch in the rear view mirror as we leave #worldmeatfreeweek behind us.
The Lost World.
Good and healthy vegetarian food is able to provide health & fitness improving nutrition for far more people, despite polluting much less and using up a lot less landmass vied towards animal farming.
And you can quote me on that because that simple statement is 100% based on science & clear-cut facts instead of peoples personal opinions and conjecture.
In fact, food production from animal farming is already using up 83% of our global agricultural land.
Yet, it is only managing to deliver about 18% of the calories we consume. And does that situation not sound completely unsustainable and fool-hearted to maintain?.
Well, to a growing number of people that situation does sound just as ridiculous and unsustainable, and utterly unhealthy as it is.
But some folks are stubborn and just can not comprehend that enjoying the taste of meat ( which is perfectly acceptable ) does not make the choice of eating red meat a
healthy choice, it just makes it a tasty but unhealthy indulgence.
And liking something does not automatically make it a good and sound choice without globally destructive and individually unhealthy consequences.
2050AD, the ugliness of humanity.
[ Oceans run the risk of having more total weight of plastic than fish.]

This last week, June 11-17 happened to be the playground of a global meatless plate movement, #worldmeatfreeweek. And no matter if you participated or not, that small movement did make your life and the life of this entire planet a tiny bit healthier.
And if you did not participate this time around, perhaps you can participate next year, or next month, or next week. Or, even better, perhaps you can start incorporating more vegetarian choices in your daily food choices, starting tomorrow.
But why does it matter?
Well, going vegetarian globally speaking would cut our collective destructive land mass footprint with 76%.
While also greatly reducing agricultural pollution and resource usage ( Animal farming happens to be the worlds largest polluter ).
Is that all?
Nope.
Healthy vegetarian food choices actually improves your health in substantial ways compared to eating red meat, and it manages to do so while making
it easier remaining fit all year round.
Also.
Beyond the big reduction of cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular issues there is the case of human made pollution spreading through our planets
animal and natural ecosystem.
For instance, a recent study showed us that 100% of tested UK mussels ( wild and store bought) contained plastic litter.
So much so that 100g of processed mussels contained about 70 pieces of microplastics.
Well.
Let us stop there for now :), but going vegetarian clearly matters because it improves your own individual health as well as
the health of the entire planet. All while doing the opposite and consuming more red meat harms your own health as well as the health of the entire planet, and sadly, it is doing so in a way and scale that society and our natural world just can not cope with anymore.
And that is why a Norse View and Scandinavian.fitness is all in on vegetarian food when we advice and talk about
health and fitness with our clients as well as write our articles.
About my photos.
I capture and produce fine art prints from the Nordic world, complete with our Scandinavian natures uniquely calm and quiet wild charm.
The white birch tree standing proud and tall in a desolate white landscape, is a scene I captured this last winter as I noticed this still
open creek quietly looking up from the snow-drenched world ( fuck me but we Vikings had a lot of snow last winter, and it was absolutely delicious ) right next to the
lonesome birch tree.
And it reminded me of a polar bear patiently guarding the breathing hole of the seal. If you like it, buy it over on printler. You can find the link to my commercially available photographic fine art prints down below.
