Short slices of random news for a Healthy Life
I am quite sure that you guys are busy hanging out like orangutangs in the comfort of your porch, (I am) so here is a short, sweet summer summary for you to scratch that ache you feel for real, and relevant news.
Because, I mean, seriously.
We are all a little bit tired of more meaningless Kim Kardashian happenings showing up in our mainstream media news right?
(No, I am not going hypocritical on you now,
Kim is all foxy looking. And the human body, in all it´s nudity and dressed up states is a delicious work of art, so nothing wrong with Kim, or anyone else, posting photos and videos of their various self´s. I am all for people doing that and anything else they enjoy. Like anyone in their right mind should be. But the frequency with which media makes such things 'news' is a perfect example of today's spammy, low quality (read: borderline junk), high paced media production and consumption vs a slower, more quality centered culture that actually brings with it something of lasting appeal and quality, and value.
But perhaps I am in the minority and Samsung is correct in it´s latest ad, proclaiming Humanity to have reached a place where we are nothing more then Neanderthals with goldfish like attention spans, jam packed sardines, waving our selfie sticks like attention seeking cave dwellers :P.
Tongue in cheek, tongue in cheek people =) ).
But my point is simple, that tsunami of whimsical articles and imagery is so plentiful in it´s abundance offline and online for those that crave it that we actually are loosing something of importance.
So, instead of adding yet more quantitative, and meaningless, mind-numbing stuff like that for you to sort through in a hazy delirium of gold fish like confusion, here is a short little look at, in my opinion, relevant things from life on Earth, Summer of 2015.
And, let me start by talking about that gorgeous new Morgan Ev3, I mean, talk about cruising the summer breeze with sustainable, life loving style.
This has to be one of the most stylish Ev's (cars even) ever created.
Sadly, you have to wait until summer of 2016, or perhaps 2017 before you can take your date on a romantic get together in this romantic piece of technology.
But as we know, all good things do come to those with patience :). And cars powered by sustainable and healthier energy is a good thing coming, as is self-driving cars. Made all the better (and relevant for your individual and our global well being) if you also happen to have a home that is powered by sun, wind, ground heat, water or some other self-sustainable resource.
And if cars isn't your thing.
Or if, like me, you are waiting for the Morgan Ev4 to pop up, self-driving and all :).
Well, if so, there are other happenings this summer, deserving of some attention.

The Morgan EV3 takes the classic English three-wheeler formula, and updates it with a 75-kilowatt electric, health, and nature-friendly motor capable of reaching 150 miles. While the Morgan is not as good as the US-made Tesla in power or range, it is still more than capable of taking you on luxurious drives around the countryside.
Like the Tesla, the Ev3 is not just powered by the rays of sun and wind, but also a capable performer.
Weighing in at less than 1,000 pounds it comes packed with enough top speed and acceleration to make you a proudly grinning driver or passenger. Yes, it needs to be emphasized that this is not a car for everyone, true to it´s oldish, grand looks, it features just three wheels and even lacks a roof.
And to drive it´s point home even more - that it is not a family car at all, the Ev3 only makes room for two. Which of course suits it´s looks and intentions just perfectly, making it a romantic, non polluting, get out of the house for the day car and less of an take the kids to school every day car.

Feeding forward.
Put that name somewhere inside your delicate memory bank, and the day you are in charge of your local food producer, shopping mall or restaurant, give their services, app and company a test drive.
It is a simple non-profit organization that makes good use of our connected world, allowing grocery stores, restaurants and other places that all to often end up with a surplus of food to reach out and let Feeding forward assist with collecting and distributing the food surplus. Making sure food does not end up in the trash bin, but instead reaches local homeless shelters and the likes, making the logistic and connectivity between those that have to much and those that needs as easy as pie.
And if you think that this, on-demand food recovery system is surely overkill and not needed at all where you live.
Did you know that in USA alone, food leftovers fill 18 percent of landfills and make up over 30 million tons of what is sent to dumps each year.
So, safe to say, the non-connected system that has been in place up until now, have not in any way been sufficient and efficient enough. And yes, all while the developed world is growing more and more obese and inactive by the day (sadly so), not everyone in rich nations like USA and Europe get´s to eat enough. Once again, in USA alone, roughly 50 million people don't have access to enough food on a daily basis.
That's more than 15 percent of the population.
And to keep talking about food and activity levels
Take a minute and look at the informative, one minute kind of video beneath this article on the costly, and damaging effects sedentary living people are having on Europe as a whole (not to mention their own individual health and life).
80€ Billion per year, 4 out of 5 teenagers
In Europe, half a million people already die every year due to lack of exercise and daily life physical activity. 4 out of 5 teenagers live too unhealthy and inactive.
All while 1 out of 5 adults are too sedentary (yes, it is a bit scary that young people are now way more lazy than their adults, working out less and eating even more shitty food).
Sad lifestyle trends resulting in a yearly health care cost of 80 billion Euro to treat all the numerous health related issue that a sedentary life is directly and indirectly causing.
And please, take note if you think that is bad. It is much worse.
Because that number is us strictly talking about inactive lifestyles. People not moving enough in their daily life.
We are not including the huge cost and health-related issues resulting from the amount of people that is eating crappy food and too much food, nor are we including all the health related issues that our industries like coal is causing.
The absolutely mind blowing thing about all this however, is that USA is in a far worse place.
So, help your own health, your mind and society, Your friends, loved ones, kids and relatives - just fucking move about a little more. Pretty please? 20 minutes per day actually gives you a huge health boost.
And while you might not notice that today, or think that it does not matter for you - in 5 years, 10 years and 30 years you will notice it. And the friends and loved ones that you have inspired will too benefit from greatly improved health.
Well, to be blunt, if you sit still for the next two months, or worse, 30 years, you will notice the accumulated, and negative toll it will have had on your mind, your body and your health. But you are not trapped in that situation. No one is.
Truth is that anyone can get in shape and anyone can fall out of shape, it might take a few months or years, but it surely will happen. And it has next to nothing to do with our biological age or DNA.
It´s all about lifestyle choices, we just don't notice the positive effects of working out and moving around right away, nor do we notice the negative effects right away if we start slipping.
The cause and effect slowly builds up over time and in both cases we are talking about months and years to cause big changes.
Those changes do come, make no mistake about that. And they do start happening from day one, no matter which way you are going.
So move more, end up healthier and happier, and to make it even better, eat healthy food and hit the gym (yoga, weights, swimming, running - or whatever thing and combination makes you tick) too. Because if you continue to do so for all of life, in the end, you´ll end up rocking a much-improved health and much more toned body and mind. Keeping your health and body a priority helps your gorgeous mind too.
No one is born to be out of shape, always remember that, no one gets out of shape because they turn 40 or 55, or 60. And no one is doomed to remain in bad shape and health.
It´s all about our daily life style choices, and the past, is in the past, what matters going forward is the life and years you have left to do.
Physical inactivity is the number 4 killer globaly btw.
But, once again, that is only counting inactivity, not counting the total toll of a sedentary, unhealthy and polluted, unsustainable lifestyle.
For instance, number 3 is diabetes related health issues (and obese and inactive people, and people drinking too much alcohol and eating too much shitty, low-quality food are way over represented amongst the 3.4 million people that die due to diabetes-related health issues every year).
Number 5: is death due to overweight and obesity related health issues, killing 2.8 million people per year. And like with diabetes. Inactive and unhealthy people are way over represented amongst overweight and obese people. (Yes, if you are moving to little, even if you do work out twice a week, you are still too inactive, and food is the same. If you eat healthy one day per week. Great, but it´s still going to cause health related issues for you since you are eating crap 6 days per week).
Health, is a daily lifestyle that keeps on giving, or taking, for all of life. And to not bore you to death with the rest of the top ten health related death causes in the world, I will just mention that they are all linked to people and society living, and causing, unhealthy, inactive and damaging lifestyles.
And to end on a bright note :).
Listening to metal is not the work of the devil, lol. Well, not that any metalhead ever have ever thought that it was. But listening to metal is now a certified by science thing of beauty and health. And no wonder, metal is the music of life. Vibrant, and full of naughty fun and energy and unparalleled love for life. But it still made me chuckle to see that science now has gained the insight all us metalheads have always known. Metal makes people happy, more creative and more at peace with the ways of life. So tune up our "Kill it in the gym" Spotify playlist and enjoy life :).
