Enjoy a healthy fit, and happy 2018 people, but before I start our shiny new year by giving you the single best health & fitness advice you´ll ever get in life, a tiny little micro-short story to welcome you to the rest of your life.

'I watched it climb
the world of ice that towered us both
its mighty tail stung the icy cavern beneath us, like a spear it was thrust into the chest of the icy mountain, sending splatter of man-sized ice blocks and snow that bled into the bottomless pit, while it drove its left and right limbs into the frosty mountain above us
and slowly
over the endless void of time
the dragon climbed its way upward
through a world of ice that tried to hold us captive
we climbed
endless step by endless step towards the moon and the stars to hunt them one by one'.

And that is in truth what a fit and active life of fitness actually comes down to. That endless journey that is the life & body & health that you are choosing to create through the continuation of your own daily choices.
You can never do a '10 days and 50 lbs weight cut' and call it a day, just as how you can never limit yourself to a 4-week gym visit and expect anything gained to hang on, because that is not a sustainable approach, and fitness and health, and quality of life will forever be progressive, it follows where you go, and up and down the road will tumble depending on your own choices.
No, what you do in a life of real health and fitness is that you wake up every single day and you open your eyes and you make the conscious choice of making this another day of healthy fit & active choices this day too. Right there, that is the single best health & fitness advice you´ll ever get.
Wake up every day, and make it a day of healthy fit choices that day too.
And never stop making that choice. You keep on grinding, making sure to repeat that simple choice every single day.
And when you fail, which we all do at times, keep in mind that it is not a real 'failure', nor is that moment of less healthy, fit choices even important since it´s just a tiny moment that does not matter in the long haul that is the rest of your life. Just keep those moments to a minimum, and leave them in the past.
So when they do happen you put that flawed moment in the backpack, and you cut it off and let it swirl away on the river of time, and right in the next moment, that´s you making a better fit and healthy choice, plowing forward all life long on the road that you are creating.
And so, since a brand new year is upon us now, throw out all the limiting 2 week and 12-week get fit ideas, throw away all the time based food routines and insane and completely fictional 'drink a cup of lemon tea before bedtime and lose 89 lbs of body fat in one week' advices and just decide to wake up every day for the rest of your life, getting prepped and ready for another day by making that small and active choice of turning it into another day of fit and healthy choices, from food to fitness and everyday activity, sleep and everything in between.
Enjoy the road ahead peeps because what´s in that backpack floating downstream will never diminish the fit and healthy life you are building with each new day and moment.
And in that spirit, why not turn as many days of that road as possible into a vegetarian day of fitness & health, with as much protein and slow carbs and healthy nutrients as possible coming from all the tasty stuff that is plant-based food, fruits, and greens. It is just a suggestion, but it is a simple and very healthy, world-improving thing to add to your brand new quality life formula.
