The Good Country Index & Scandinavia
The Science of a healthy life
The Good Country Index ranks 160+ nations across the world, measuring a wide spectrum to reach a conclusion for how good each nation is as a whole for it´s own people, and humanity. "That successfully contributes to the good of humanity. Of course it must serve the interests of its own people, but never at the expense of other populations or their natural resources: this is the new law of human survival". This years list ranks Sweden and Denmark as the number one and two nations in the world. USA is found at number 21, Finland 6, Netherlands 3 and UK is the fourth best nation in the world.

a story of Scandinavian values
Scandinavia
[ and Europe ]
The short story not to overlook is how Scandinavian values and way of life once again dominates a global quality of life ranking. It is not just one Scandinavian nation in the top 6, but three. And yet you will find at least 'a couple' of clueless 'Trump' voting people bitching about how crappy life in 'socialist' Scandinavia has to be and how wonderful life is in lower quality of life nations such as USA (rank nr 21).
Life can of course be and is for a lot of people, utterly amazing in any given nation. And make no mistake about it, USA is a wonderful place too.
But as a whole, like fossil fuel vs sustainable energy, unhealthy food vs healthy food, perhaps the time has come to point out the obvious.
The world needs to forget about doing things the more individually selfish 'American way' and instead start focusing on doing things a lot more the science-based and human 'Scandinavian way'.
Heck, when you think about it, comparing the two different approaches, it is actually very much like comparing a sustainable and healthy nation vs a fossil fuel driven and unhealthy nation that is more focused on imaginary ideas than actual reality.
And we all know what is needed long term speaking if we start thinking about it as fossil fuel vs sustainable energy.
Obama knows it, Bernie knows it, I do, and so do you.
That mental check of course include Scandinavians themselves who at times tend to forget just how amazing life is for everyone when we put real Scandinavian equality and values front and center instead of trying to make our own society to be more like other, less equal and lower quality of life nations.
Sustainable energy and food production, industries and society, equal and healthy every day life, universal income and health care, a science driven and fulfilling, full life for every individual. Clean and thriving wildlife and nature. Modern cities that improve upon peoples life and daily health instead of hurting health and well being.
This however, is not about nations or cities, it is about our global and individual life and well-being across the entire world, for you see, it truly is one and the same. And as such it has to be the global goal for everyone no matter gender, status, nation, religious values and beliefs. Bring on the robots, self driving cars, the clean air and tasty, healthy food, universal and god damn amazing free health care and education of the future, and make sure it happens on a thriving and healthy planet.
Dont nerf it, embrace it.
