Yes, our bones are a living aspect of our body, and as such, lifting challenging weights with proper form will absolutely help women post menopause even if they have already been diagnosed with a lower bone mass.

In several and recent studies it has been well established that weight lifting is very beneficial for the health, strength, and structure of our bones and that this hugely positive benefit applies no matter age and gender.

While it is true that a lower % of our bones rebuild as we age compared to our younger self they are regardless of our biological age as much a living breathing aspect of our biological ecosystem as our skin and muscles. Bone mass break down and rebuild every single day through life. Which is one reason why unhealthy food habits can result in worse bone strength and mass since our bones break down extra much in order to release stored nutrition back into our body when we feed our system insufficient nutrition, and sedentary inactivity is not doing our bones or muscles any favor either.

And while it is true that menopause stacks the odds even more against female health when it comes to their bones and muscle mass. Just as how women can build a fit and toned body all through life, the health, and strength & structure of their bone mass also responds in a health-promoting way when women lift challenging weights.

In a recent study, link below, it was found that women with low bone mass past menopause started growing healthier bone mass once the started lifting challenging weights just 30 minutes twice per week.
So, as a fit and healthy person, do not feed the myth that women are doomed to live with weak bones. Instead, promote and live the act of picking up the weights and build better bones.
