Fitness School
Do you know the right answer?.
Question number 34 in our School of Fitness.
Yes, we absolutely love our leg and glute day. The challenge it provides is a huge mountain of fun to climb every single week.
But, did you know that you are not just strengthening your lower body when you are building stronger legs, ass, and hips?. Of course, you do. You know damn well that those leg days are crucial for the health and wellness of your lower back and abs too. And it sure does tax your heart and metabolic functions too. However, let us go upstairs towards our brainy area with this question.
Here is my question:
Is it true that weighted exercises in the gym for your leg and glutes will increase the production of healthy neural cells? ( which are crucial for the capacity and health of our brain and entire nervous system )

1.
Yes.
2.
No way.
3.
Maybe baby.
I am quite sure that you might have been able to guess this one due to only having 3 short options this time around.
But whatever you answered, yes is the correct one. When you perform regular weighted exercises such as Squats, deadlifts, and lunges, or just go out and run, walk or do martial arts, for your legs and glutes you are aiding your brain in producing new and healthy neural cells.
Which will maintain and improve your capacity in the brain and entire nervous system. All while doing the opposite. Ie, making sedentary choices, or living in a weightless state ( such as on Mars or a space station ) will decrease your ability to produce healthy neural cells.
And that reduction, would, in that case, lead to a lower cognitive capacity. So keeping your lean muscle mass strong and able due to regular weighted physical activity will do your brain and entire nervous system equal good.

"Our study supports the notion that people who are unable to do load-bearing exercises—such as patients who are bed-ridden, or even astronauts on extended travel—not only lose muscle mass, but their body chemistry is altered at the cellular level and even their nervous system is adversely impacted,"
